About Mina
Mina was born in San Antonio, Texas to Japanese parents and grew up in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo. She trained in classical ballet from the age of three for eleven years, then spent a year at a K-pop dance studio before a JYP Entertainment recruiter approached her while she was shopping in Osaka. She moved to South Korea in January 2014 and debuted with Twice the following year. She stepped back from the Twicelights tour in 2019 with an anxiety disorder and returned fully in February 2020.

Born in Texas to Japanese expatriate parents; her father is an orthopaedic surgeon at Osaka University Hospital.

Held Japanese and American citizenship by birthright and gave up the American one in 2019.
