About Jeongyeon
Jeongyeon failed a JYP Entertainment audition as a child, passed a second one in 2010 and trained for five years before Sixteen. Registered at birth as Yoo Kyung-wan, she took the legal name Yoo Jeong-yeon. She stepped back from activities twice, in 2020–21 and again in 2021, for anxiety and panic disorder, and has since hosted the charity talk show Inspector. In August 2026 she left JYP for Varo Entertainment while staying in Twice.

Her older sister is the actress Gong Seung-yeon; their father was a chef who worked for former president Kim Dae-jung.
