Stray Kids (스트레이 키즈, usually shortened to SKZ) is a South Korean boy band under JYP Entertainment. The line-up was put together by leader Bang Chan, who hand-picked his own team of trainees rather than leaving the choice to the agency's executives, and the group was then assembled on air through the Mnet survival show Stray Kids, broadcast from October 17 to December 19, 2017. The members came up with the band's name and designed its logo themselves. The seven-track pre-debut EP Mixtape, collecting the songs written for the show, arrived on January 8, 2018, and the official debut followed on March 25 with the showcase Unveil (Op. 01: I Am Not) at Jangchung Arena; the EP I Am Not and its lead single “District 9” came out the next day.

The I Am and Clé series filled 2018 and 2019, and “Miroh” brought the group its first music-show win on M Countdown in April 2019. Vocalist Woojin left in October 2019, leaving eight members. The first studio album Go Live (2020) and its single “God's Menu” fixed the loud, self-produced sound the band became known for, and the second album Noeasy (2021) was JYP Entertainment's first million-seller. After signing with Republic Records for the United States in February 2022, every album that followed entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 — Oddinary, Maxident, 5-Star, Rock-Star, Ate, Hop, Karma, Do It and This & That — making Stray Kids the first act to debut at the top of that chart with its first nine charting releases. 5-Star sold more than five million copies in Korea, and “Lalalala” became the band's first entry on the Billboard Hot 100.
In Japan, where the group debuted through Epic Records Japan in 2020, the EP Social Path / Super Bowl (Japanese Ver.) became its first million-certified record and the albums The Sound and Giant both topped the Oricon chart. Stray Kids received the Prime Minister's Commendation at the 2023 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards, appeared on Time's Next Generation Leaders list the same year and on Forbes Asia's 30 Under 30 in 2025; IFPI ranked them the second best-selling artist worldwide in 2025. In 2026 they released the anniversary single “Stay”, the compilation SKZ-Replay 2026 Pt.1 and the tenth Korean EP This & That, and took the Run It World Tour on the road from Seoul in July.
