Seungmin came second in JYP Entertainment's 13th open audition in February 2017 and joined as a trainee months before the survival show. He has recorded soundtrack songs for a string of Korean dramas, hosts the Song By cover series on the group's YouTube channel, and is the only member to have sung a solo song written by each of the three members of 3Racha.
