Anton was born in Boston while his father, the singer-songwriter and producer Yoon Sang, was studying in the United States, and grew up between the US and Korea. RIIZE (라이즈, stylized in capitals and pronounced “rise”) is a South Korean boy group formed in Seoul by SM Entertainment; the name blends “rise” with “realize”. SM first flagged the project in its SM 3.0 roadmap video of February 2023, and on May 24 it announced that NCT members Shotaro and Sungchan would leave that group to join the new one alongside SM Rookies trainees Eunseok and Seunghan. The full seven-member line-up — completed by Wonbin, Sohee and Anton — was revealed on August 1, 2023, and the group debuted on September 4 with the single album Get a Guitar, which sold more than a million copies in South Korea in its first week. SM signed the group to RCA Records for the United States on debut day, and the fan club, first announced as Sunz, was renamed BRIIZE two days later.

The follow-up single “Talk Saxy” arrived in October 2023, and “Love 119” (January 2024) brought the group its first music-show wins on M Countdown and Inkigayo; a Japanese version released later that month served as their Japanese debut. Pre-release singles “Siren” and “Impossible” led into the first EP Riizing (June 17, 2024) and its lead single “Boom Boom Bass”, and the repackage Riizing: Epilogue landed on the group’s first debut anniversary with the added track “Combo”. Their first original Japanese single, “Lucky”, went to number one on the Oricon Singles Chart. The first studio album Odyssey (May 19, 2025), led by “Fly Up”, topped the Circle Album Chart and has sold over 1.9 million copies in Korea. The line-up changed along the way: Seunghan was put on indefinite hiatus in November 2023 after pre-debut photos of him were leaked, was announced as returning on October 11, 2024, and left the group two days later after a fierce backlash from part of the Korean fandom — a reversal that was widely criticised abroad as a case of cancel culture.
Since then RIIZE has released the second single album Fame (November 2025) and the second EP II (June 2026), led by “Do Your Dance”, plus the Japanese singles “All of You” (February 2026) and “Sunburst” (August 2026). The Riizing Loud tour ran from July 4, 2025 to March 8, 2026 with 37 shows, following the 31-show Riizing Day fan-con tour of 2024. Their honours include Rookie of the Year at the 2023 Melon Music Awards and the 33rd Seoul Music Awards, Best 3 New Artists at the 2024 Japan Gold Disc Awards, Best Male Group and Top 10 Artist at the 2024 Melon Music Awards, a Performance of the Year daesang at the first D Awards, and an Album Bonsang for Odyssey at the 40th Golden Disc Awards in January 2026.
