Eunseok was street-cast by SM Entertainment on his way home from school and joined the company after being approached several times. He was introduced as an SM Rookies member in July 2022, appeared in Welcome to NCT Universe, and debuted with RIIZE in September 2023.

Grew up in the Guui-dong neighbourhood of Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.

Had no interest in becoming an idol; SM Entertainment approached him four times — outside his school, at a subway station and on the streets of Cheongdam-dong — before he accepted.
