About Wendy
Wendy spent much of her childhood studying in Canada and the United States and was cast at an SM Entertainment global audition in Canada in 2012 after accompanying a friend. She was introduced through SM Rookies in March 2014 and sang a drama soundtrack before Red Velvet even debuted. A fall from a stage lift in December 2019 broke her pelvis and wrist and kept her off stage for a year; she returned on New Year's Day 2021 and has since released three solo EPs, hosted a nightly radio show, debuted in Got the Beat and in musical theatre.

Lived in Jecheon until her fifth year of primary school, then studied in Brockville, Ontario, at Shattuck-Saint Mary's in Minnesota and at Richmond Hill High School in Ontario, becoming fluent in English.
