NCT WISH is the sixth and final sub-unit of NCT, formed by SM Entertainment through the 2023 selection programme NCT Universe : LASTART. Sion and Yushi were introduced through SMROOKIES before joining the programme’s selected trainees. Originally presented as NCT NEW TEAM, the project released the Japanese pre-debut single Hands Up in October 2023. Jungmin withdrew for health reasons before that release; Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo and Sakuya became the six-member debut lineup. Their official debut performance took place at SMTOWN LIVE at Tokyo Dome on February 21, 2024, followed by the bilingual single WISH on February 28.

Working across Korea and Japan, the group followed WISH with Songbird and its first Korean mini-album Steady in 2024. The Japanese album WISHFUL gathered earlier Japanese singles alongside new songs, including Wishful Winter. The Korean mini-albums poppop and COLOR developed the group’s catalogue in 2025, with both passing a million Korean physical sales in the Circle figures documented in the discography. Their releases pair melodic pop with the tightly coordinated choreography associated with NCT, while their early career brought rookie awards at the Asia Star Entertainer Awards and Golden Disc Awards.
The Japanese mini-album WISHLIST opened 2026, followed by the standalone Japanese song Same Sky. In April, NCT WISH released its first Korean full-length album Ode to Love, a ten-track record whose title song incorporates the melody of The Cranberries’ Ode to My Family. The group also continued its INTO THE WISH : Our WISH concert tour, including an April Seoul encore. The Japanese double A-side YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL followed in July 2026, extending a catalogue that also includes animation songs, drama soundtracks and remixes.
