Ruka is the oldest of Babymonster's seven members and, with Asa, one of the group's two rappers. Born in Japan in 2002, she had already debuted in the Japanese girl group Shibu3 Project before joining YG Entertainment, where she trained for roughly six years — the longest run in the line-up. She was the last of the seven to appear in the run of performance videos YG rolled out from January 2023, and has taken lyric credits on the group's own material since the first studio album.

Pharita is the second-oldest member of Babymonster and one of its two Thai members. She had taken part in modelling contests and audition programmes in Thailand before winning a place at YG Entertainment out of 1,226 applicants, then trained in Seoul for about four years. She was the sixth of the seven members shown in the performance videos that ran from January 2023, and YG posted her “Introducing Pharita” clip on February 13 of that year.

Asa moved from Japan to South Korea at around twelve, drawn by the hip-hop sound of YG Entertainment, and trained there for about six years before the debut. Introduced by the label as a rapper and an all-round “ace”, she is the member with the most writing credits on Babymonster's own songs, starting with the pre-debut single “Batter Up”, which she co-wrote and co-composed. She also performs the Japanese-language Drip track “Woke Up in Tokyo” as a duo with Ruka.

Ahyeon was the second member of Babymonster to appear in the performance videos of early 2023, and was described inside YG as the group's natural centre and an all-rounder across vocals, rap and dance. A cover she recorded of Charlie Puth's “Dangerously” travelled far enough that Puth wrote the group a song of his own, “Like That”, for their debut EP. She stepped back from activities for health reasons in November 2023 and so does not appear on the original recordings of “Batter Up” or “Stuck in the Middle”; her return was announced in January 2024 and both songs were re-recorded with all seven members.

Rami was the very first Babymonster member to be shown to the public, on January 12, 2023, when she was still promoting under the name Haram. YG changed her stage name to Rami on November 23, 2023, taking the nickname the other members already used for her, days before the group's pre-debut single “Batter Up”. She has been on an open-ended break for health reasons since May 2025 and has not taken part in a group release since; she remains a member of the seven-piece line-up.

Rora had already performed in the children's music group U.SSO Girl, alongside NewJeans' Hyein, when YG Entertainment took her on; she trained there for roughly six years, among the longest of the seven. Yang Hyun-suk considered placing her in two other projects before she joined the final line-up as one of the two members picked as a “fans' choice”. She was the fifth of the seven to appear in the performance videos of early 2023, at fourteen years old.

Chiquita is the youngest of Babymonster's seven members and the last of them to be recruited: Yang Hyun-suk added her to the project after just three months of training, the shortest run of anyone in the group, and she then prepared alongside the others for three more years. She was the third of the seven to appear in the performance videos of early 2023, and, like Pharita, was mentored as a trainee by Blackpink's Lisa.
