About Gaeul
Gaeul grew up in Bupyeong, Incheon, studying ballet before moving to hip-hop dance, and was scouted by a Starship Entertainment representative at a youth dance competition in April 2017. After roughly four and a half years as a trainee she was introduced as the second member of Ive in November 2021. She has written rap lyrics for the group since “Royal” in 2022 and helped build the choreography for later tracks such as “TKO” and “♥ Beats”.

Took up ballet first and switched to hip-hop dance; her parents only agreed to an idol career on the condition that an agency accepted her.
